Frequently Asked Questions

We believe in absolute transparency. Here are honest, technical answers to common vehicle-care questions.

1. How often should I wash my car in the United Kingdom?

For most daily drivers, we recommend a safe wash every 2 to 4 weeks. If you do extensive motorway commuting or drive regularly on gritted winter roads, moving to a bi-weekly rinse will help prevent stubborn road film and salt from building up.

2. What is the main danger of winter road salt?

Road salt is highly hygroscopic—it absorbs water from the air and holds it directly against your car's chassis. Combined with oxygen, this creates the perfect environment for rust to form. Regular non-contact rinses of wheel arches and the undercarriage during freezing temperatures help wash away salt residues.

3. How long does a ceramic coating actually last?

There is no "permanent" ceramic coat. Realistic durability depends on the product used, how many miles you drive, local weather, and how you clean the vehicle. Properly maintained coatings generally last between 1 to 3 years. Regular contact-free pre-washing will extend this time; automatic brush car washes can ruin it in just a few cycles.

4. Can you guarantee the complete removal of all interior cabin odours?

While we clean deeply, use gentle steam techniques, and deodorize seats, we cannot guarantee 100% removal of heavy, persistent smells like deep-set cigarette smoke, old damp, or stubborn pet oils. These smells often saturate the porous sound-deadening foams beneath the carpets, which cannot be cleaned without taking the cabin apart.

5. Will detailing clear away dog hair from boot carpets?

We work carefully to vacuum and brush out pet hairs using specialized tools. However, certain short-haired breeds produce needle-like hairs that lock into carpet weaves. We will lift as much as physically possible, but complete removal cannot be guaranteed without risking damage to thin carpet linings.

6. What are the limits of paint correction and machine polishing?

Machine polishing can reduce fine swirl marks and light scratches in the clear coat. It cannot fix deep scratches that have cut through the lacquer down to the primer or metal. Our digital gauges also let us check if paint is too thin; if clear coat is limited, we prioritize safety and avoid heavy polishing.

7. Do you work on older, classic, or vintage vehicles?

Yes, we can evaluate older vehicles. However, vintage single-stage paints (without a clear coat) and old rubber trim require extremely gentle, specific methods. We always perform a thorough physical inspection first to determine a safe cleaning approach.

8. Can I make an enquiry for a small commercial fleet or van?

Yes. We welcome enquiries for small fleets, company cars, and work vans. We schedule these individually to minimize downtime for your business, ensuring a professional presentation.

9. How does your online enquiry form work? Is there online booking?

Our website is entirely informational and enquiry-based. When you fill out our form, we review your vehicle details manually. We then contact you to discuss practical options and schedule a physical inspection. We do not process online bookings or payments here.

10. What are realistic outcomes for a basic wash?

A basic wash removes surface dirt, road film, and motorway grime safely. It leaves the paint physically clean and dry. It will not hide scratches, restore faded paint, or protect your paintwork long-term unless you ask for a dedicated wax or sealant application.

11. Why do you avoid quoting exact prices on this website?

Because no two vehicles are in the same condition. A car with heavily swirled paint and deep pet-hair issues takes significantly longer to clean safely than a well-maintained vehicle. We only provide firm estimates after physically inspecting the car's paint and cabin.

12. Do you have any physical address listed?

Yes, our professional vehicle detailing studio is located at: Unit 8, Anchor Business Park, Harbour Road, Bristol, BS11 9HT, United Kingdom. To ensure complete privacy, security, and a dust-free environment for vehicles currently undergoing detailing, we operate strictly on an appointment-only basis. Please contact us to schedule an inspection before visiting.

13. What happens if you inspect my paint and find it is too thin?

If our digital paint-depth gauge shows the clear coat is critically thin, we will explain this honestly. We will recommend avoiding machine polishing to prevent burning through the lacquer. Instead, we'll advise focusing on a deep decontamination and a safe sealant layer.

14. Why is a non-contact pre-wash so important?

It is the most important step for safe washing. By applying active foam that breaks down road film and rinsing it off before using a mitt, we remove up to 80% of abrasive grit. This means there is almost no grit left to drag across your delicate clear coat during the contact wash.
