Unlike standard carnauba waxes that sit loosely on top of the paintwork and wash off over a few weeks, a ceramic coating (silicon dioxide or SiO2) chemically bonds to the clear coat. It acts as an incredibly thin, glassy shield that fills in microscopic pores in your vehicle's lacquer.

Myth 1: "It makes the paint scratch-proof"
The Reality: Ceramic coatings can help reduce fine swirl marks during washing, but they cannot stop stone chips or keys from scratching your car. They do not add physical structural armour to your paintwork.
Myth 2: "It lasts forever"
The Reality: No coating is "permanent". The practical life of any ceramic layer depends on paint preparation quality, mileage, local weather, and how you clean the vehicle. Regular contact-free pre-washing will extend its life; cheap, aggressive car washes will degrade it very quickly.
Myth 3: "You never have to wash your car again"
The Reality: The vehicle will still get dusty, muddy, and covered in road film. It will simply be much easier to wash safely, and the paint will hold its deep gloss for longer between cleanings.
